The Deal

The game is played by two players, who sit opposite each other. One player is the dealer, who shuffles the cards and lets the other player cut the deck. The dealer then deals five cards to each player, one at a time, starting with the non-dealer. The next card is turned face up and placed at the bottom of the stock (the remaining cards that are not dealt). The suit of this card determines the trump suit for the round. The Play

The non-dealer starts the play by leading any card from their hand. The dealer must follow suit if possible, or play a trump card if not.
