The acid house sound, or acid sound, is most easily identified through the repetitive bass lines, the wobble of the 808 or the razor-thin guitar lines, which are usually played in the key of B Major and range from slow to hyper-accelerate patterns, which are often referred to as acid lines. These lines are often played by hitting the notes on an oscillator with the CV from a bass guitar.

The South African music scene in particular has a history of releasing music that is influenced by acid house. This is due to the fact that South African music is also influenced by other genres such as Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Fusion, Drum and Bass, Techno, and Hip Hop. In the early 1990s, many South African DJs created beats that featured acid house type bass and acid lines. Some even used sampling techniques to create acid-like bass lines.

South African producers using acid house samples include 3 Majestic, Madiba & the DJ's, DJ Nel, DJ Krust, and DJ Mavado. Acid house influence can also be heard in South African dance music played today.

Retro Techno is a sub-genre of electronic music that has been created specifically to pay homage to the music of the 1970s and 1980s. It is an eclectic and ever-changing subgenre that ranges from the uplifting melodies of Psychedelic Trance, to the more industrial and dark sounds of Industrial Techno and the bass heavy sounds of Deep Techno.

This book will look at the history of the Roland TB303 from its beginnings as an acid house device to its role as an influential instrument in the electronic music industry. It will cover the cultural and social history of acid house, and the Roland TB303's role in the development of dance music from the 1970s to the present day. It will also cover the many different musical genres that have been created using the TB303, and will look at Acid, Techno, House, Psychedelic Trance, Deep House and more.

The evolution of the Roland TB303 from an acid house device to a more versatile and feature packed single ended, dual channel and even fully featured modular synthesizer unit has been remarkable. The TB303's sounds and tones are the most well known in the electronic music industry and it has been at the heart of thousands of electronic music tracks. 827ec27edc
